Its rumoured that James Bond could be killed off in the next installment of the franchise.

However, 007 may be given another lifeline with claims that Bond 25 producers are keen to leave an open-ending so that Daniel Craig has the opportunity to reprise the character – and that may also mean that director Danny Boyle, who reportedly quit the movie over plans to kill Bond, may be enticed to return.

Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is said to be taking inspiration from Ian Flemings novel, From Russia With Love, which ambiguously ended with the iconic British spy being poisoned by a Russian agent and fighting for his life.

In August, it was announced that Danny, 61, had quit the franchise over creative differences. It later emerged that the director was strongly against Barbara and Daniels plans for Bond to die in dramatic fashion.

With Danny no longer involved in the next installment and producers struggling to find a replacement for Daniel, the release date for Bond 25 has reportedly been pushed back from 2019 to 2020.

Filming was originally scheduled to begin in December but it is now expected to commence in January. This gives Daniel plenty of time to bond with his new baby girl, whom he and wife Rachel Weisz welcomed over the weekend.
