Jali: I’m not a guaranteed starter at Sundowns

Johannesburg – Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali says he is well aware that he must dig deep to be a regular starter in Pitso Mosimanes star-studded side.

Jali, who was also linked with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates upon his return from Belgium after almost five-years at KV Oostende, believes he made the right choice moving to Chloorkop.

The 28-year old competes with the like of Hlompho Kekana, Tiyani Mabunda and Oupa Manyisa to be in the starting line-up at the Brazilians.

He also admitted that they have a mammoth task to make the final of the MTN8 after losing the semi-final first leg encounter to Cape Town City last weekend.

"First of all, I will say thanks to Sundowns, the way they have welcomed me into the club and supported me to settle down," Jali told SuperSport.com.

"It was easy for me to settle down because I know some of the players from the national team.

"It was good move for me to come to Sundowns; I'm not scared of competition or anything that comes my way. I will take it like a man and that is why I came here, to win things.

"I came to a good team with good players where I'm not guaranteed a place to play every time.

"The match against Cape Town City is a big one. We disappointed our supporters again after playing them in the first leg match and going out in the CAF Champions League. This one is our last chance to make our supporters happy."
