Coronation Street spoilers: Peter Barlows vow for revenge leads to a shooting

Peter Barlow is determined to protect his son from the violent behaviour of Tyler and his gang in Coronation Street but events are about to spiral out of control then the thugs target Simon once again, leading to a shooting.

After Tyler and his mates tried to bundle Simon into a car, Peter was relieved that he was saved by a passing Kate Connor but that was soon replaced with anger as he struggled to hold onto his temper.

Vowing to keep Simon in his sights, Peter takes him to work but after he is left under Carlas care, a distraction leads to her having to leave Underworld for a bit – which is when the yobs strike and start hammering on the door to get to Simon.

As Peter returns, he rushes to intervene but things take a terrible turn when Tyler points a gun at him from a car window and opens fire.

As Peter is hit in the chest in front of Carla, he falls to the ground. Has he paid a terrible price for defending his son?
