Mark Coulton encouraging Parkes electorate to apply for Federal Government grants

There is an abundance of Federal Government funding currently on offer for individuals, communities and industry groups, and Member for Parkes Mark Coulton is encouraging those in his electorate to apply now.

The $20 million volunteer grants round is just one of many grant programs offering financial assistance, with applications closing soon.

“I strongly encourage all community organisations across the Parkes electorate to apply for a share of $20 million in grants to support the work of their volunteers,” Mr Coulton said.

“Volunteers make vital contributions to the Parkes electorate every day, and volunteering is a proven pathway to get people into jobs and increase community participation.

“Across Australia, volunteer efforts make an estimated annual economic and social contribution of $290 billion,” he said.

Mr Coulton said the volunteer grants program will provide funding of between $1000 and $5000 to help community organisations buy equipment like laptops, pay fuel costs, train volunteers and improve their fundraising.

“Id like to see all volunteer organisations in the Parkes electorate apply for the grants to help make their work easier and more rewarding,” Mr Coulton said.

Applications for the Volunteer Grants round close on September 18, 2018.
