Aretha Franklin reportedly hadnt made a will at the time of her death.

The singer died aged 76 following a battle with cancer, but it would seem she hadnt planned on going anywhere just yet.

In documents seen by TMZ, Aretha had allegedly died intestate, which means she had no will at the time of death.

Arethas estate is estimated to be worth $80 million (£62 million), which under Michigan laws will go to her four children.

Itll be held at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History on 28 and 29 August from 9am to 9pm.

The will later be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.

The 76-year-old was remembered at the recent MTV VMA awards held in New York on 21 August. However, her tribute left fans disappointed and angry as Madonna delivered a speech on the late singer.

Instead of paying tribute to her decades of work in the music industry, Madonna instead spoke of her own experiences, while giving a nod to Aretha as an inspiration.

Madonna later took to her Instagram to clarify that she had not been asked to lead a tribute to the singer, and instead had been asked to give an anecdote on how Aretha affected her career.

And just to clarify: I was asked to present video of the year by MTV! And then they asked me to share any anecdotes I had in my career connected to Aretha Franklin! I shared a part of my journey and thanked Aretha for inspiring me along the way, she wrote.
