The Nyngan High School community, Jenny and Clark Lane along with family and friends have come together to celebrate the life of Shelley Lane, unveiling a section of garden at the High School dedicated to her memory.

On Friday, a memorial table was provided by Shelleys parents Mr and Mrs Lane, a commemorative plaque and geisha girl tree were planted and erected, donated by Sophie and Angus OBrien and an inspirational mural was prepared by Elvina Hughan and Shelleys close friends from the school.

High School principal Michael Gibson said it was a positive day to keep the memory of Shelley alive within the community and the school.

“The unveiling was an emotional day for many people, most of all Shelley's family and friends, but it was a positive day,” Mr Gibson said.

“Shelley's family and friends showed great strength and we know that her memory will live on not only with the garden but also in our hearts and minds of her smile and warmth as a young lady,” he said.
