Coronation Street is lining up a terrifying ordeal on the cobbles as a main character faces being shot after having a gun pointed at them from a moving car – is a horrifying death set to rock the community as one of Weatherfields own dies in bloody circumstances?
Peter Barlow faces the grave after defending his son Simon against gang member Tyler, who is out for revenge after Simon speaks out against him in court. While Simon returns home from a break in Cornwall with Ken, his holiday mood is instantly dashed when Tyler piles on the pressure.
Simon escapes prison time for his part in the burglary against Flora McArdle but he is shaken at the prospect of testifying against Tyler, who almost killed the pensioner when he launched a jewellery box at her head.
Simon will start getting more threats and a picture preview released by the soaps website and social media accounts even shows him being bundled into a car by masked thugs – only for Kate Connor to leap to the rescue and pull him free.

As things get worse, the week gets even more sinister as a car pulls up by Underworld and a gun is pointed out of the window at Peter. Peter is rooted to the spot but will a shot ring out and bring an end to him – and will the deadly situation cause Carla to finally realise how deeply she still loves him?
Earlier in the week, Carla puts Peter to the test when she notices that an applicant for a role as machinist bears an uncanny resemblance to Tina McIntyre and she insists that Peter interviews her. But will Peter pass with flying colours – and is this enough to prove that he is a changed man?
