Coronation Street spoilers: Henrys biggest and last secret revealed as Gemma faces heartbreak
Henry Newton is synonymous with keeping back shady secrets – his first stint involved him dating Gemma Winter for a bet so he was never going to be the most trustworthy of Coronation Street characters.
Even though it seems that he has genuinely fallen for Gemma this time and wants to make a go of things, he has already lied to her about his financial situation when he offered to buy the Rovers – but his biggest deceit is still to come as he contemplates stealing from Rita Tanner and Maria Connor and then causes an injury to himself with the sole intention of sueing Jenny and Johnny.
When Henry is accosted by two thugs, they demand £20k from him for Cressidas parents as they are seething at having to fork out for a wedding that never ended up happening. When it becomes clear how dangerous they are, he eyes up a cheque that Rita has left in a drawer but is caught in the act.
Later, after Jenny and Johnny kindly offer him and Gemma jobs at the pub, he is in the cellar when he causes himself to fall and break his arm. He then makes it clear that he is going to get cash out of the landlords for a personal injury claim – but will Gemma go along with it?

Its clear that this is the catalyst for heartbreak in Gemmas world as Henry is leaving the show with George Banks having already filmed his final scenes. Whether this means Gemma kicks him to the kerb or the thugs see through their deadly threats remain to be seen.
But its clear that Gemma is going to be left on her own once more – unless Chesney Brown finally reveals his true feelings.
