Its not been long since Ty moved in with Marilyn, John and Raffy, but it looks like a figure from his past is about to make a sudden return. After recently coming out as gay, which led to him running away from home and injuring himself, Ty has only just settled down in the Bay and celebrated his 16th birthday on the beach.
A few days later, Marilyn receives a call from the foster agency which leaves her feeling shaken. Tys mum has contacted them, saying she wants to see her son.
Marilyn wonders when and how to tell Ty, especially as hes so happy now. She and John decide to sleep on it, and break the news to him in the morning.
Feeling upset and conflicted, Ty disappears to make sense of the news. Later on, he tells Raffy, John and Marilyn that he doesnt want to see Jodi. She abandoned him and left him to leave with his grandparents, so why does she deserve to see him now?
Later on, Raffy implies to Ty that he could regret not meeting his mum – she may have an explanation for being gone all these years. But Ty tells her he doesnt need to be abandoned twice, and is worried she wont accept his sexuality.

Marilyn is also worried that not meeting his mum could be the wrong decision, but John tells her the family are finally happy, so she should let sleeping dogs lie.
Left feeling stuck, Marilyn confides in Alf, and makes a decision. Later, she calls John on the road to tell him shes driving to meet Tys mother…
