More than 20 pubs in western NSW have joined in the fight to help drought stricken farmers by registering with Buy A Bales Parma for a Farmer campaign.

Locals and visitors now stopping in for a bite to eat can purchase the popular parmigiana meal and every $1 will go towards the drought appeal.
In western NSW towns that have signed up include Wellington, Parkes, Gilgandra, Broken Hill, Canowindra, Coonabarbran, Blayney, Lake Cargellico, Young, Mudgee, Hermidale, Dubbo, Millthorpe, West Wyalong and Rockley.
Kellee Gersbach, from Wellingtons The Cow and Calf, said have come on board with the campaign and while they dont have a target on how much they want to help raise, believe every dollar counts.
“With 100 per cent of our state in drought and central west being one of the worst hit areas, it was only fitting that the Cow and Calf get on board to do what we can to provide drought relief,” Ms Gersbach said.
According to the Combined Drought Indicator which records the drought in NSW, the town of Wellington is in intense drought.
Ms Gersbach said they see how the drought has affected local farmers, friends, families and valued customers.
Since joining the appeal, Ms Gersbach said the meal has become even more popular.
“We haven't tallied our sales as yet…,” she said.
“We had over 2000 people engage with our Facebook promotion for 'Parma for a farmer'.
“Locals are making a conscious effort to pick a 'Parma for a Farmer' when eating at the Cow and Calf…”
