There are very few ways to celebrate one of your favourite movies quite like going and being IN the movie yourself.

Every year, Secret Cinema vows to do this, and this years efforts – Baz Luhrmanns Romeo and Juliet – may be the best and most magical so far.

Two households, both alike in dignity are eager for your allegiance, and you are assigned a family tie ahead of the performance ahead of the show, with the request to address accordingly.

You will be missing out if you dont embrace your new identity, and before long youll have a sense of kinmanship within your tribe.

But whether youve been given the guts, grit and glory of the Montagues or the power, passion and pride of the Capulets, the party you arrive into is open to all.

(However, it might get a little tricky if you and your friends are placed into warring factions, as you will be placed head-to-head at several points.)

Set up as the Truce of Two Houses, the ultimate aim of the show is to spread a little joy and love to the attendees – but just like Shakespeare himself said, the course of true love never does run smoothly, and even in 1996 Verona, with Hawaiian shirts for all, there will always be a catch.

If we were to recommend anything, it would be to keep an eye out for the main players of the show, who will be wondering around the streets of Verona and willing to spin you a tale or two.

It doesnt take long to be swept up in the magic of Luhrmanns world, and the stunning recreation of it within reachable distance from Central London.

Unfortunately, while a summer of love is the perfect setting for the film, London isnt always so forgiving – on just day two of the shows run, they were forced to cancel due to the rain.

But if youre willing to brave the elements and bring a blanket, rain wont dampen spirits at all, and in certain key scenes has the capacity to elevate the experience above and beyond if you let it.

Also, top-tip for Insta lovers: While you may not be able to use your phone once inside the grounds of Verona, keep an eye on the walls surrounding it – theres plenty there for you to get snap happy with without giving too much away.

Keep your eyes open, keep your allegiance strong, and youll walk away completely in love.

Secret Cinema: Romeo and Juliet is playing at a London location until 25 August.
