John Farnham to headline drought benefit concert to help farmers

JOHN Farnham will headline a benefit concert in support of drought-stricken farmers in Tamworth later this year.

The gig titled Hay Mate: Buy a Bale — A Concert For The Farmers will take place on Saturday, October 27 with The Voice himself leading a line-up tipped to be filled with a litany of stars.

Guy Sebastian and Adam Harvey already confirmed for the gig.

Also making news:

The concert is being supported by Wests Entertainment Group, News Corporation and Channel 9 with all money raised going to Rural Aid.

Talks are under way to run a live telethon on the night.

More details of the concert will be revealed in coming weeks.

The concert comes just days after the entire state of NSW had been drought declared.

Meanwhile, 700 people gathered in Bathurst on Saturday for the Black Tie and Boots Ball in Bathurst.
