Bunbury Bulldogs maul Augusta Margaret River Hawks
The Bunbury Bulldogs have kept their 2018 South West Netball Football League premiership chances alive.
Predicted to secure an easy win over Augusta-Margaret River in round 14, the Bulldogs hit the South West Sports Centre on Saturday in good spirits.
Bolstered by attackers Cass Shine and Cassady Anderson under the ring, Bunbury earned an 11 to 5 lead at quarter time.
The Hawks banded together and provided an uplifting performance in the second term.
Bunburys might was too strong, as the home side rallied to lead 23 to 12 at the main break.
The second half belonged to the Bulldogs, going on to claim an overwhelming 59 to 24 victory.
In their blockbuster showdown, Busselton was determined to overcome league leaders Carey Park.
The Magpies solid 53 to 41 result placed them one win below the Panthers with just five rounds to go.
Making a return after their round 13 bye, Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault went up against the Eaton Boomers.
With a home court advantage, the Lions fought courageously to pick up a 51 to 42 win.
In round 15, the Hawks go up against Eaton as HBL takes on Busselton.
On Sunday, the South West Sports Centre will see Bunbury and Carey Park in action.
In the West Australian Netball League, the Souwest Jets were looking to avenge their round one loss to the Rangers.
On Friday night, the Rangers hit the ground running against the Jets in the first term.
The Jets were bowled over by the oppositions speed and ferociousness around the court.
Fresh from an 18 to 10 lead at quarter time, the Rangers continued their form in the second.
The Jets then shrunk the gap and gave the Rangers a challenge before half time.
Scoring the first six goals of the third quarter, the Rangers diminished the visitors chances at claiming their fourth win of the season.
Capitalising on an eight-goal lead at three-quarter time, they then held the Jets at bay throughout the final term.
The Jets have vowed to regroup following their 61 to 41 loss in round nine.
