Emmerdale fans reckon they have cracked the case of who Amelia Spencers kidnapper Beth is and why she wants revenge on the family. It has been all but confirmed by the soap that Dazs past in the army is linked to Amelias kidnap.
Back in 2009, Daz made a tragic mistake during a live training exercise and opened fire on a fellow soldier, who died in the accident. While Dazs name was cleared officially, he has been haunted by it ever since – and so has Beth, clearly.
Viewers are now certain that Beths motive for keeping Amelia hostage is because she is the daughter of the man killed by Daz – after all, she used the place name Hellmand (which is situated in Afghanistan) and the year 2009 in the chat room where she tricked Amelia into trusting her.

Of course, time will tell if this pressing theory is right but there is more drama to come when Daz gets the ransom call and sets about trying desperately to raise the cash.
