Cape Town – Iran defender Milan Mohammadi performed a never-before-seen acrobatic somersault throw-in that has been hailed as the best throw-in in World Cup history.

Full-back Mohammadi who was a 69th minute substitute attempted to perform his signature somersault throw-in deep in stoppage time in the 93rd minute as Iran were looking to equalise after trailing 1-0.

Diego Costa had given the Spanish the lead rather fortunately in the 54th minute through an attempted clearance that deflected off the striker into the back of the net.

Twitter lit up after the final whistle at Mohammadi's ninja-like throw-in with many hilariously calling it the greatest moment so far at Russia 2018.
