Job Expo open for all

If you want to kick start a career, are looking for a career change or simply unsure of what to do next visit the Community Hubs Job Expo on Thursday, June 28.

The annual Job Expo will be open to members of the community from 9am until 10am at the Nyngan Town Hall.

Organiser Katie White is hoping to see members of the community visit the Town Hall to learn more about a number of occupations and services available to join, both locally and regionally.

“Come down and speak to a range of employers about opportunities for volunteering, training, apprenticeship opportunities,” Ms White said.

“If youre looking to make the next step in your job or career and need any help we have a number of businesses and organisations available to speak with you and offer advice.”

For students finishing high school, leaving the gates behind can be a daunting experience, however the Jobs Expo offers face-to-face guidance.

“If people are unsure of what courses are available to further develop new skills and qualifications, TAFE NSW and UNE will be present to discuss future moves,” she said.

The University of New England, AERIS Mines, NSW Ambulance, TAFE NSW, Fire and Rescue NSW, Bogan Shire Council, Nyngan Preschool, CentaCare, Ability Links are just a few of many businesses and services that will be there to offer advice.

This year the Job Expo is unique as it will offer presentations on resume building, to help people in the community boost their skills.

Doors are open to community members of all ages, and theres options for everyone.
