The annual Can Assist High Tea is back on Saturday, June 30, offering an afternoon of sweet treats, fashion and friends.

The High Tea, held at the Nyngan Town Hall, will be served from 1.30pm, where community members will be treated to not only the finest in tea, coffee and scones but a wonderful fashion parade as well beginning at 2.30pm.

President of Can Assist Nyngan Lyn Webster said she is excited for the event which helps raise money for those in the Bogan shire affected by cancer.

“Last years High Tea was a huge success that featured a wedding fashion parade through the ages, with beautiful gowns from the 1920s ranging to the more current styles,” said Ms Webster.

“Were hoping that our lovely ladies will continue to support the High Tea. Its such a lovely way for food, fun and friendship, all the while supporting a really great cause,” she said.

This year a range of fashions will on display, with six ladies and six children walking the red carpet in clothing supplied from Narromine boutique Ollie and I , and local store Brads Wear.

There will be a number of prizes including best dressed lady for a High Tea, lucky door prize and raffle.

“The lucky door prize has been kindly donated by Betsy Donohue, and Rhonda Holmes has donated a hand-made prize for the raffle.

“Both these ladies have had or are having their battles with cancer, which makes this extra special,” said Ms Webster.

Can Assist is urging you to be a part of this wonderful day as all money raised goes to assisting local people undergoing treatments with some financial assistance.

Tickets to the event are $20 per person, and the committee are urging people to pick their tickets up from Nyngan Innovations as there will be none sold on the day.

Can Assist are asking anyone who wishes to donate plates of food please take them to the Town Hall before 10am.
