NRMA office closes shop

The NRMA Insurance office, currently located in the old Westpac building, will be closing on June 30.

A spokesperson for NRMA Insurance has said that the decision comes with the shift in the way customers deal with the organisation.

“Late last year, NRMA Insurance notified the agencies that provide an on-site telephone referral service and payments for customers that they will be closing after 30 June 2018,” NRMA Insurance spokesperson said. “This decision follows changes in the way our customers like to deal with us, in particular their preference for online and the 24/7 customer phone service centre.”

Bogan Shire Mayor Ray Donald said last week that the closure of the office is another setback for townspeople. “Closure of this office is just another withdrawal of a service that provided helpful advice to locals, similar to what was available at the Court House.”

Customers of NRMA Insurance in Nyngan have been contacted to explain how they can get in touch with the company, which includes their website, 24/7 customer service centre and full service agencies.

“NRMA Insurance is very grateful to the Nyngan agency proprietors who have worked hard to assist our customers,” a spokesperson said.

It is being advised any customers who wish to make their policy payments in person can do so at any Australia Post office.

It is also important to note that these changes are only to NRMA Insurance services and not the NRMA roadside service or the NRMA Insurance partner repair network.
