Fashion house Rottingdean Bazaar stood out from the crowd by sending models in fancy dress outfits down the catwalk at London Fashion Week Mens (LFWM) this weekend.

Rottingdean Bazaar is James Theseus Buck and Luke Brooks, who live and work in Rottingdean, East Sussex.

They were showing as part of LFWMs Man show, a project that was launched in 2005 by Topman and Fashion East to nurture menswear designers through the difficult early stages of their career.

Each season they offer three menswear designers the opportunity to present a catwalk collection to the international press and buyers attending London Fashion Week.

Designers receive a bursary, free venue and complete catwalk show production, professional catwalk photographs and video, as well as mentoring through out the process.

This was Rottingdean Bazaars last show as part of the scheme, so decided to go out with a bang by dressing models in hired fancy dress outfits.

The designers wanted to throw a fancy dress party to celebrate their graduation from Man.

Ever since we started we wanted to try to twist what the purpose of a catwalk show is, and this was something we didnt think had been done before, Rottingdean Bazaars Luke Brooks told Dazed.

We also didnt want to have to loan the collection out next season, you know, we dont have a PR or anything. So if stylists want to borrow looks, theyll have to get in touch with the stores we hired them from.

We found that quite funny.

As well as Rottingdean Bazaar, Art School and Steffan Cooke were the other designers showing at Man SS19.

Since its inception in 2005, the scheme has helped launch the careers of the likes of JW Anderson, Astrid Andersen and Liam Hodges.
