Saudi Arabia, UAE boost cooperation as multiple deals signed

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates signed 20 deals in a strategic partnership to boost the two nations global stature on Thursday.

The two countries also announced 44 joint projects.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed signed the agreements at the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council in Jeddah on Thursday.

During the meeting, which was chaired by the two crown princes, the structure of the coordination council was announced with the aim of boosting the joint cooperation on the implementation of projects.

A five-year implementation timeframe was announced for strategic projects between the two neighbors.

Abu Dhabis Crown Prince said that the two countries have an opportunity to create an exceptional Arab model of cooperation. He said the solidarity and unity between Saudi Arabia and the UAE “protects our interests and straightens our economies and builds a better future for our citizens”.

Earlier, the Saudi crown prince received Prince Mohammed, who is also the UAEs Deputy commander of the armed forces.
