Its set to be the defining hip-hop beef of 2018 – but is one of the belligerents now set to throw in the towel?

Drakes feud with Pusha-T has transfixed us all for the past couple of weeks, with Pusha seemingly burying Drake with the release of the diss track The Story of Adidon.

Pusha alleged in the song that Drake has secretly fathered a child, while also digging up a controversial archive picture of Drake in blackface.

The furore over that choice of artwork truly ignited the beef between the two, which has been lingering on for years.

The episode forced Drake to clarify the context behind the blackface photo before then retreating into radio silence – and it now appears that that blow has moved one of Drakes closed confidants to advise him to admit defeat in the beef.

Rap-A-Lot CEO and Drake mentor James J Prince called into Maryland radio station DTLR Radio over the weekend to reveal that hed spoken to Drake about what the rapper should do next.

I spoke with Drake, Prince said.

I made an OG call this morning telling him: “I dont want you to respond to this. We gonna put this to bed, because we cant get in the pigpen with pigs.”

Because pigs turn into hogs, and then hogs get slaughtered.

Prince also maintained that it wasnt in Drakes character to get bogged down in a beef: We havent worked this hard to cheat ourselves over nothing.

He did admit that he wasnt sure what Drake might do next, but hoped that the Hotline Bling star would take his sage advice.

This interview follows on from Kanye Wests recent declaration that the Drake/Pusha beef had ended – but lets not count our chickens (or should we say pigs?) just yet.
