Hermidale raise some dough

Hermidale Public School have raised some dough for the school.

Jess Jensen, Treasurer of the Hermidale Public School P&C was in Nyngan on Friday to deliver Krispy Kreme donuts with proceeds going towards the school.

“Its a fundraiser by the P&C to help raise money to go back into the school to upgrade facilities and things like the kids school excursions,” said Ms Jensen.

About 28 boxes were delivered to Nyngan, 52 to Cobar and 8 dozen were delivered to Hermidale.

The delivery day was special as June 1, marks National Donut Day.

The day has been around since 1938 to honour the Salvation Army Donut ladies who served donuts to soldiers during the First World War.

To celebrate the holey occasion a number of cafes and stores around the world are offering discounted or free donuts.

Krispy Kreme have announced they are giving away 50,000 original glazed donuts. To get your hands on one all you need to do is visit a store and ask.
