Stormzy and Mel C arrive at the 2018 Ivor Novello awards where the rapper and Ed Sheeran are nominated
Mel C was spotted arriving at this years Ivor Novello awards in London – without her fellow Spice Girls in tow.
The Spice Girl arrived at Grosvenor House on Park Lane ready for the exclusive luncheon honouring artists, song writers and producers for their work from the last year.
This year, Ed Sheeran, Rag n Bone Man, and Stormzy are all nominated, with Ed up for most performed work with Castle On The Hill and Stormzys Dont Cry For Me up for best contemporary song.
Speaking exclusively Metro.co.uk, Mel C said of the event: I think its so important to acknowledge the writers, because so often they are overlooked. A lot of artists are songwriters as well, but there are a lot of collaborations so there are a lot of people being honoured today we dont see often. Thats important.

Its the heart and soul of the music industry. What I find frustrating about the digital age is its difficult to find the producers and writers who appear on the recordings and I think its something Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music need to sort out.
Its the 63rd ceremony of the annual awards, which last year saw Lauva Mvula honoured with the award for her album, despite having been dropped by her label.

Coldplay own the PRS for most performed work for Hymn For The Weekend, and Skepta nabbed the gong for best songwriter.
