Remember when it was reported that designer Emilia Wickstead had casually slammed Meghan Markles wedding dress?
It was claimed she said the dress was identical to one of her designs, and noted that Meghans dress was quite loose when the fit should have been perfect.
Oh, and apparently she criticised Meghans royal wedding hair, too: Hold the wisps back. Its a royal wedding for Gods sake.
Naturally there was quite a bit of uproar about the comments, especially as Emilia Wickstead is a designer many of the royals love – Kate Middleton regularly wears the designer, and Meghan wore a bespoke Emilia Wickstead skirt suit back in April.
Now Emilia has backtracked on those remarks, stating that Meghan Markle looked absolutely beautiful on her wedding day.
I am extremely saddened by commentary that has appeared in the press and on-line over the past few days, wrote Emilia in a statement posted to Instagram.
Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Sussex looked absolutely beautiful on her wedding day and I have the utmost admiration and respect for her.

I do not think the wedding dress was a copy of any of our designs. I have the greatest respect for Clare Waight Keller and the House of Givenchy – a huge source of inspiration to me.
I wish Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a wonderful, happy and love filled life together.
Reactions to the statement have been mixed.

Some have questioned why Emilia made the comments in the first place, while others arent sure about the genuineness of her retraction.

Well have to wait and see if Meghans kind enough to look past the drama and wear Emilia Wickstead in the future.
