Regional Arts Hub meeting to be held this week

Creative Corner invites artists, art workers, organisations and the wider community to attend the inaugural Regional Arts Hub Advisory Meeting, Wednesday May 30 at the Margaret River Education Campus from 2pm – 4pm.

The meeting aims to build creativity, capacity and connection in and between regional communities and further develop the regional arts sector in WA.

The two hour session will be facilitated by local Barrister and Mediator Steven Castan, and will focus on five key questions developed by Country Arts WA.

Feedback will help inform the future direction of Country Arts WA.

Creative Corner executive officer Niomi OHara urged creatives to get involved by attending the meeting.

“This is a great opportunity to have a say in the future of the arts and creative industries in the South West,” she said.

“This is an inclusive community get together, were hoping for a good turn out and a variety of voices”.

Creative Corner is one of the four Country ArtsWA Regional Arts Hubs with a network which covers the state and currently includes Broomes Goolarri Media Enterprises, the Nintirri Centre in Tom Price, and Arts Narrogin.

Together the Hubs aim to increase creative self-sufficiency and autonomy for organisations and artists and benefit the arts sector by revitalising and strengthening local capacity, economy, and community.

The inaugural advisory meeting in the South West is open to anyone currently based in Augusta-Margaret River, Nannup or Busselton.

People are asked to RSVP for catering purposes by contacting Creative Corner via [email protected]
