Sunday AFL teams: Hawks resist tall temptation

Hawthorn have resisted the temptation to select ruckman Jonathan Ceglar for their clash with West Coast while the Eagles have picked Elliott Yeo and Adelaide have included star midfielder Matt Crouch in their side.

The Hawks also confirmed returns for key pair James Frawley and Jaeger O'Meara while West Coast have the luxury of going into Sunday's game unchanged.

Yeo – who is enjoying a stellar season for the Eagles – injured his right knee when it got twisted in a tackle during the 47-point win over Richmond.

O'Meara (calf) and Frawley (shoulder) return after one match off and replace James Worpel and Kaiden Brand (both omitted).

Hawthorn have been well served by Ben McEvoy in the ruck all season, however the Eagles ruck stocks of Nic Naitanui and Scott Lycett have played a crucial role in their side's dazzling form.

McEvoy will do the job solo on Sunday afternoon despite coach Alastair Clarkson saying his match committee were flirting with the idea of playing two rucks. Richmond elected to have Shaun Grigg play as a back up ruckman to combat this in round nine but were comfortably beaten.

West Coast haven't beaten Hawthorn in Melbourne for 10 years.

Meanwhile Adelaide has confirmed star midfielder Matt Crouch will play Melbourne in Alice Springs. The midfielder has been one of many Crows who have succumbed to hamstring injuries in 2018.

His season has been interrupted because of that, missing rounds three, four, five and nine. The Crows have also regained Wayne Milera from a hamstring injury sustained against Carlton in round seven. Luke Brown is the third Crows' inclusion.

The trio replace Lachlan Murphy, Andy Otten and Myles Poholke in the team.

Crouch's addition is a crucial one for the Crows, whose midfield lacked depth without him. Bryce Gibbs had been left to fly the flag as a top grade midfielder last round given the continued absence of his brother Brad Crouch and Rory Sloane.

Melbourne travel to the Northern Territory unchanged.

Over in Perth, Fremantle have selected speedster Stephen Hill after two weeks out injured with a quad complaint and fellow dasher Danyle Pearce. They've replaced Mitch Crowden and Ryan Nyhuis (both omitted).

Their opponents North Melbourne have brought in Sam Durdin for his first game in 2018 in place of Majak Daw (rested).
