Cowaramup Bulls Gold U9s v Falcons

Cowaramup Bulls Gold played Falcons in U9s football fixtures at Cowaramup Oval on Saturday.

At the beginning of the game, the umpires encouraged the kids to hold their positions, keep their feet, and try to knock the ball out of packs, and all the players took this to heart.

The Falcons team tried hard but they struggled to get the ball forward all day. Those Payne boys for the Cowie Bulls (Cavan and Harper) were everywhere: in the ruck, taking gutsy marks and kicking goals.

Oscar Zan was prominent along with Caleb Longden, Matilda Olsen, Sullivan Weeks and Rocco Holt in attack, and if the ball did manage to get into the Falcons' attacking half, Flynn Anderson and Ethan Semenow kept bringing it straight back out again.

It was a great team effort by the Bulls. Coaches awards for the U9s went to: Matilda Olsen, Rocco Holt and Harper Payne.

Cowaramup Bulls Gold U11s v Falcons

What a great game of U11 football this was and the game went down to the wire with both teams showing some super skills by hand and foot.

Bulls got off to a fast start with Jake Miller in great form in the middle of the ground and Josh Fry amazing in attack.

Falcons came back hard in the second quarter with a couple of goals to get right back in the game, and then the whole match was a tight struggle to the final siren.

Tom Golding ran hard all day for Cowaramup. Kian Monaghan-Hall, Jack Zan and Mitch Jolliffe linked beautifully with Gilbert Fokkema and Mitch Binning to make repeated attacking efforts.

Jack Zan made several awesome intercepts off the backline and laid one great tackle that probably saved a goal.

A super bit of play late in the game saw Mack Weeks get the ball to Josh Fry, who ended up with a last goal to add to his big haul for the game.

Coaches awards: Jake Miller, Jarrod Taylor, Kian Monaghan-Hall and Josh Fry.
