Transport sector in the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah makes preparations for Hajj

RIYADH: Deputy Transportation Affairs Minister Bassam bin Ahmed Ghulman met with members of the Transport Sector in the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to discuss early preparations for this years season.

The meeting was attended by coordinating councils for trips from Makkah and the Makkah Development Authority at the ministry headquarters.

Ghulman said the meeting comes within the Ministrys preparations for the Hajj season in line with its vision to improve and develop services to transport pilgrims to holy sites.

Several approved projects were discussed during the meeting, including the expansion of bridge 62 Souq Al Arab over Wadi Arna, west of Arafat, and linking it to the existing northern pedestrian route No. 6.

In addition to expanding road bridge 56 Al Jawhara over Wadi Arna, west Arafat and linking it to the existing southern pedestrian route No. 1.

And establishing an overpass and four slopes at the Muzdalifah, along with extending the emergency road in Muzdalifah and add more links to pedestrian bridges.
