It is sometimes referred to as a bateau neck or a Sabrina neckline, and is a popular choice for brides who want to show off some collarbone and neck without going fully strapless.

The definition of this neckline is that it runs horizontally along the collarbone, stopping wide at each shoulder.

Interestingly, the reason it was called a boat neck is because it was used in sailors clothing.
