Micho explains Mokwena working relationship

Cape Town – Orlando Pirates coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic says he and assistant mentor Rulani Mokwena work closely in a partnership that has paid dividends for the club.

The pair have combined superbly in 2017/18 to transform the side's fortunes with a second place position in the Premiership the end product.

Mokwena was appointed to assist Sredojevic after previously spending time under Pitso Mosimane at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Nonetheless, both men have contributed to a fine campaign for the Sea Robbers, and 'Micho' explained why and how they went about their business.

He told reporters: "First thing, arriving here and giving the task from the chairman to us, with coach Rulani we decided (to) let us go hand in hand (and) work as a unit with the rest of the technical team and show what power of coaching could do.

"We are going into the deepest possible details in our corrections, we are talking to the players, they are eager, motivated to improve themselves, individual improvement is improving partnership, partnership improvement is improving (the) department.

"Departments (are) improving the team and this is how we move. Every single individual is very important to us and we have seen, so many aspects of improvement.

"However, are still very far in what is supposed to be and I would have (said) we had 3 elements of I want to call it, strategic targets, built up identity in order to be and I believe that we have succeeded to be a team with the (most) ball possession in the league and this is something we are proud of, this is a step forward."
