Ajax CT to challenge PSL ruling, to interdict playoffs

Cape Town – Newly-relegated Ajax Cape Town have responded to the arbitration ruling to dock the club of points and will look to interdict the promotion/relegation playoffs.

The Urban Warriors were sensationally relegated from the Absa Premiership after being found guilty of fielding an ineligible player, Tendai Ndoro, by the PSL.

As punishment, Ajax forfeited three matches – against Platinum Stars, Polokwane City and SuperSport United – by a scoreline of 3-0.

Ajax confirmed on their Twitter account that they are in the process of urgently consulting their legal team regarding the ruling. The club also plans to approach the Johannesburg High Court to file an interdict to prevent the promotion playoffs from going ahead.

Amongst other issues, the club will seek to interdict the promotion playoffs from commencing on Wednesday 16th May at 3pm. This will be sought pending an urgent review of the arbitrators award this morning.#WeAreAjaxCT ????
