Bulls roar in Cowaramup clashes | Junior Football
Two local derbies and an U13 game against last years grand finalist, Tigers… what a way to start the season for Cowaramup Junior Football Club at the weekend.
The Cowaramup Bulls have two teams in both U9s and U11s, with the U9s kicking off the first of the local derbies.
All games were played in shining spirit between teams that are very evenly matched.
In the U9s, for Bulls Gold, stand out players were Ethan Semenow, Dustie Taylor and Oscar Zan.
For Bulls Red, best were Zac Mulcahy, Kai Luttrell and Raphael Juniper.
In the U11s for Bulls Gold, James Meldrum made many great dashing runs turning defence into attack, and Jake Miller had some awesome assists to set up early goals.
Best players were Jack Zan, Gilbert Fokkema and Tom Golding.
For U11 Bulls Red, Marvin Ferris laid heaps of tackles, preventing many of the Gold attacks, while Ben Cook definitely played a captains game.
Best players were Arkie Parsons, Marvin Ferris and Ben Cook.
The U13s tried hard against Tigers, who were in solid form early and had much of the first quarter play.
A long-distance goal by one of Tigers best, Ella Roberts, right on the quarter-time siren gave Tigers all the momentum at the start of the game.
Bulls bounced back in the next three quarters and fought the game out to the end.
Best players for Bulls were Jonah Brooks, Finn Barrett-Lennard, Kaison Williams and Tahn Payne.
