Arctic Monkeys returned to US TV last night to perform their new single, Four Out of Five.

The four-piece band released their latest effort, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, worldwide today after weeks of hiding it under a shroud of secrecy to keep fans ready to pounce.

After setting up a series of pop-up stores around the world to celebrate today, the group performed on Jimmy Fallon and finally revealed one of their first tracks to the world.

Sheffields finest have been pulling out all the stops for their new album, which is their first full release since 2013s divisive A.M.

Announcing their intention to keep all their new music under wraps ahead of the release, frontman Alex Turner had previously revealed to Radio One that his creative process was an isolated one.

Guitarist Jamie Cook later confirmed this in an interview with Mojo magazine, and explained that the entire release was nearly another solo project for Alex to handle alone.

He told the publication: I think at first, because it was quite basic – piano, vocal and no guitar – Al was in two minds about, “is this Arctic Monkeys or am I going somewhere else with this?”.

And maybe at first I was a bit like that as well.
