Narcos Pedro Pascal & American Crime Storys Edgar Ramirez To Star In Oliver Assayas Wasp Network – Cannes

Narcos Pedro Pascal and Edgar Ramirez, who played Gianni Versace in Ryan Murphys recent American Crime Story franchise, have signed up to star in Oliver Assayas forthcoming Cuban spy drama Wasp Network.

The pair will star in the feature, which is based on the true story of Cuban spies in American territories during the 1990s and explores the reach of a terrorist network based in Florida that had ramifications across Central America.

Personal Shopper director Assayas wrote and directed the film, which is based on Fernando Morais book, The Last Soldiers of the Cold War. RT Features Rodrigo Teixeira is producing alongside CG Cinemas Charles Gillibert, while RTs Lourenço SantAnna and Sophie Mas are executive producing.

IMR International is launching the film to foreign buyers in Cannes, with CAA is handling U.S. rights.

RT Features is the company behind Luca Guadagninos Call Me By Your Name and is currently in production on Robert Eggers The Lighthouse, the follow-up to The Witch, and in post-production on James Grays Ad Astra, starring Brad Pitt for Fox.

Meanwhile, IMR has a number of other titles launching in Cannes including Scott Z. Burns The Torture Report and David Robert Mitchells Under the Silver Lake, starring Andrew Garfield and Riley Keough, which will have its world premiere in competition at the festival. It is also shopping What Is Life Worth with Michael Keaton, Jacques Audiards The Sisters Brothers starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Joaquin Phoenix; Anne Fletchers Dumplin starring Jennifer Aniston, Borderland starring Jamie Dornan and Sam Claflin and The Tale of the Allergists Wife starring Bette Midler and Sharon Stone.

Ramirez is represented by CAA and Impression Entertainment. Pascal is represented by WME and Untitled Entertainment.
