Just recently guitarist Jamie Cook opened up on the first time he heard what Alex Turner had laid down in a number of demo tracks for Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino.

From what he revealed, it sound as though Alex has taken a new direction with their sound, but despite changing things up, it sounds like their new stuff will be just as good as what were used to hearing.

Jamie told Rolling Stone: I was blown away by the direction Alex had gone in. It took a few listens to even begin to, like… It was just, like, “Shit. What do we do with this?”

Alex was asked the same question, with an added extra of questioning whether Alexs move to drop dramatic guitar riffs was a fuck you gesture.

His response was the only response wed expect from the front man as he said: Maybe theres a time and place for both that guitar riff and a fuck you gesture.

Got all grounds covered there Alex!
