Brace MMA cancels upcoming Sydney show as rumours hit overdrive

Brace MMA has cancelled its upcoming Sydney show as rumours about the promotion's future hit overdrive.

Brace chief executive Kya Pate says he is still waiting on a written report from the ACT government after the mixed martial arts promotion's Brace 53 show was cancelled after the weigh-in last Friday night.

Now the promotion has scrapped its next show, Brace 54, which was scheduled for Luna Park in Sydney on June 15.

In a bizarre twist Pate's Twitter account has been deleted and the Brace website has almost nothing left on the home page – it consists of little more than a Brace 53 banner with "cancelled" written in red letters.

Pate says he is yet to receive a response from the ACT Combat board detailing the government's reasons for cancelling Brace 53, which was scheduled for the AIS Arena last Saturday night.
