Salaries are sometimes something that people hide, embellish or boast about, but you cant lie to the Taxation office, and theyve shared some statistics from the 2015-2016 financial year.
Out of western NSW small towns Cobar and Nyngan are bringing in the highest average salary and wages according to data released by the Australian Government.
The Cobar community has the highest average wage or salary at $70,158. The next highest is the Nyngan postcode (2825) with an average salary or wage at $53,186.
Both these communities have mines in their region which could represent the big increase in salaries.
The next highest average salary or wage is the Narromine postcode (2821), which has been recorded as $48,935.
None of these average salaries come close to Australias richest area, the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, where the average income is up to $192,000 each year.
At the other end of the spectrum is Tomingley and Tullamore, where the postcodes' average salary or wage is $40,691 and $40,652, respectively.
