Westlife wont be having a full reunion after all

Nope, there won't be a proper Westlife reunion

We have to let it go – quintet Westlife will never be a thing again.

While Brian McFadden teased us by saying never say never to his return to the group, Shane Filan has uttered the word never on his behalf.

We had a dream that they would reunite, but apparently theres just too much water under the bridge for Shane, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan to welcome Brian McFadden back with open arms, as Shane has said 10 years of no speaking is too long a time to overcome.

And so the 38-year-old said Brian wont be invited back.

He said: I havent seen Brian in 10 years. Weve just lost touch, its like going to school with somebody and then not speaking.

I wouldnt speak to him to reminisce, not all all. We all had a good relationship with Brian then he just left the band very early on and I dont think we would ever reunite with him.

He added that if a reunion were to happen it would be just the four of them, who split after 14 years together.

I honestly see Westlife as being four people now – the four people who started and finished Westlife are what I consider the band, he said. Brian has been out of the band longer than he was in it.

If we ever reunited down the line it would only be the four of us.

Brian performed with the band from 1998 – 2004 before leaving suddenly to pursue a solo career.

X Factors Louis Walsh, the bands manager, also ruled out a return for Brian.

Brian wont be involved, it will be the Fab Four. Totally, he said. The four of them just see themselves as Westlife.

He clarified the decision was because he wanted the remaining members to be happy.

No, I prefer a happy band and four happy people, he said. They all know each other, they all respect each other.

Three of them live in the same town in Sligo, so it makes more sense.

Rip original Westlife. Lets remind ourselves of the good old days.
