Walker thinks blinkers will get Tangled over the line in Packer Plate

“I think the blinkers are going to make a big difference to him. At 2000m he is going to be very strong and he feels like a horse that is only going to get better with a bit more time,” Walker said. “It would be great for him to go out a winner because he is very genuine.”

Tangled is the main reason for Walker coming to Randwick for the carnival finale but he has also picked up the rides on Blazing Issues in the Champagne Stakes and Endless Drama in the All Aged Stakes.

However, it is former Kiwi filly Joyfilly Ours which caught his eye has he did the form for the James Carr Stakes.

“Her New Zealand form is first class and Im sure Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott will have her ready to go,” Walker said. "As a two-year-old she was third in the Sires to Melody Belle and was only just beaten in the Breeders Stakes, which are good races over there.

"If she races up to that level she will be right in that race."

Bott said it had taken Joyfilly Ours a bit of time to acclimatise to Australian conditions and the way of life at Tulloch Lodge. She had two runs in the spring, which were disappointing, and has been given three trials, the most recent a win over Washington Heights and Savapinski.

Walker closes his day on New Universe in the last at Randwick. Walker just missed on New Universe in the Maurice McCarten Stakes where he was third in a blanket finish before he got too far out of his ground when fifth in the Star Kingdom Stakes

“He is another horse I have ridden at his past couple of starts and he is getting closer to a win,” Walker said. “I think the 1400m will be better for him and he will be finding the line hard.”
