Inglis showing signs of terror-ific Raiders return

After missing most of last season due a knee reconstruction, Rabbitohs coach Anthony Seibold said Inglis was starting to find his feet.

"Greg's progressing well. He's crossed the line in our last three games, which has given him some confidence," Seibold said.

"He's progressing every week, that's what we're most pleased about. Physically he's improving at training and performances on the field have probably reflected that over the last two or three weeks."

His return makes for a mouth-watering clash on one edge of the field – Inglis on Souths left up against "Leipana" on Canberra's right.

The NRL's most dangerous centre-wing pairing of Joey Leilua and Jordan Rapana are also bringing some deadly form of their own into the contest.

Between them they've scored five tries this season and have combined for 21 four-pointers over the last two-and-a-bit years.

While the Raiders right-edge has copped flack for their defence at times, Raiders captain Jarrod Croker backed Leilua to handle Inglis when they go head to head on Saturday.

"It's good to see [Inglis] back. He's getting six, seven, eight matches under his belt where he's really starting to hit his straps and it's good for the game," Croker said.

"Hopefully he's not hitting his straps too well this weekend, but I'm confident [Leilua] can look after him this weekend."

Seibold will take on his former club for the first time since taking Souths' reins this season.

He spent 1997-98 in Canberra and played 14 games alongside Raiders coach Ricky Stuart, Laurie Daley and Rabbitohs assistant coach David Furner when Mal Meninga was the coach.

While he's "always had a soft spot for the club" that goes out the window on Saturday at 3pm in an "important game for both clubs".

He's been impressed with the way the Raiders' forwards have played in recent weeks and was wary of a side that's scored 116 points against the Rabbitohs in their last three meetings.

Souths forwards tore apart the Sydney Roosters last weekend and will be bolstered by the return of England international Sam Burgess.

Seibold warned his pack not to relax following Burgess' inclusion after a two-week suspension.

"Sam's a leader of our club and has had an outstanding career. When you get a player like him back it adds to the strength of the team," he said.

"But the players have done a really good job over the last two weeks in Sam's absence.

"So from an individual or collective point of view I don't want that to change, I still want people to understand they need to do their job and Sam's not going to do it for them."
