NUESTs Baekho cleared by prosecutors in sexual assault case
Baekho, member of K-pop boy band NUEST, has been cleared of sexual assault charges.
We received an official notice today that he has been cleared of all charges. This is proof that what was alleged never happened to begin with, and that Baekho is innocent, said Pledis Entertainment, according to Soompi.
Prosecutors decided not to file charges against Baekho – real name Kang Dong-ho – based on claims by a woman, who alleged Baekho sexually assaulted her when they were both high school students in 2009.
She posted the details online in June last year after four NUEST members participated in the survival audition TV program Produce 101 season 2, in which Hwang Min-hyun was selected as one of the 11 winners.
The woman claimed while they were on a bus, Baekho touched her thighs, breasts and in between her legs, Allkpop reported at the time.

Pledis Entertainment vehemently denied the charges, vowing to take strict legal actions, without any exceptions, against false online posts currently circulating recklessly, as we mentioned before.

And to prove Kang Dong Hos innocence, we are currently processing legal charges on the basis of privacy violation, circulation of false content, creation of initial false posts and spreading them, and more, it added.
The charges threatened to derail NUESTs career, which experienced a surge in popularity after Produce 101.
