Beyonces Coachella set in pictures: Singer slays stage year after cancelling as festival renamed Beychella
Wow.
Anyone catch Beyonces set at Coachella?
Course you did. The whole world woke up/stayed up/tuned in for Beys mammoth set in Indio California that saw her sing for nearly two ruddy hours.
We were exhausted just from watching her, as we sung along to the hits, moved (badly) along to the beats and basically proceeded to lose our shit for 120 minutes of madness.
From the very first glimpse of the queen, dressed aptly in royal regalia fit for her own title, we knew we were in for a treat as she owned the stage alongside a full-on marching band and dance troup, in a nod to HCBUs (Historically Black College or University).
She began her long-anticipated performance with Crazy in Love accompanied by a New Orleans-style brass marching band, before she sang Lift Every Voice and Sing, which has been referred to as the black national anthem.
The singer made history, as she became the first black woman the headline the festival, and only the second to do so in a decade after Lady Gaga filled in last year.

Beyonce was scheduled to perform, however was forced to pull out after falling pregnant with twins Rumi and Sir.
It wasnt long before pundits renamed the festival Beychella as DJ Khalid owned the mic as Beys hype man during the performance – which other headliners The Weeknd and Eminem werent afforded the privilege of.
The shebang was mainly college-themed, as she riffed on HBCU halftime shows, had a marching band as her onstage musicians, she made reference to historically-black fraternities and sororities with a BK hoodie worn by the whole squad – as she basically gave us a two-hour long history lesson.
Bey played an epic 31-song set (sure some songs were mashed up with others, but cmon, what stamina!) with heart-stopping cameos from husband Jay-Z, Destinys Child and sister Solange.
Given that Beyonce had spent most of her mammoth set singing tracks from album Lemonade, all aimed at her husbands infidelity, it seemed fitting he was only given the floor for a mere few seconds out of her entire TWO HOUR set.
That is how Bey put him in her place.
Jay didnt even get a full song, leaving the stage immediately after he rapped his few bars of Deja Vu and Beyonce once again resumed her solo performance.
Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams reunited for Beyonces first ever Coachella show as the fans went wild for them as they saluted the 100k plus crowd in Cali.
Standard.
The two came onto the stage and formed a threesome once more as they performed hits Lose My Breath, before going into Say My Name and Soldier.
Last week it was hotly rumoured the 90s and 00s girl group would come together to perform for the first time since 2015.

All the bangers were put out there! Except Bootylicious. But thats neither here nor there.
Solange joined her big sister to a dance-off to Get Me Bodied, as Beyonce rested her voice and gave her feet another massive workout.
Seriously – how shes going to top this performance we have no sodding idea.
Guess thats one way to headline a festival.
