Trapeze Artist bound for The Everest after stud option taken off table

“He has come through the TJ very well and the 1400m will be perfect for him.”

A couple of studs have inspected Trapeze Artist at Ryans stable and been impressed. Another group 1 win on Saturday would further justify his $40 million price tag.

“One of the stud guys said he looks like a 2000m horse. He is so strong,” Ryan said. “He is a Snitzel that has speed, stamina and power.”

Tye Angland will look for his third group 1 win on Trapeze Artist, which carried his strong three-year-old form from early in the autumn into a fourth in the Hobartville Stakes and a third in the Randwick Guineas.

“The only reason Tye didnt ride him early in the preparation was that he was clashing with Ace High, which he won the Derby on,” Ryan said. “He has a good record on Trapeze Artist and rode perfect in the TJ. When we could get him on him, we did.”

The All Aged will feature the first appearance of Hartnell in Sydney in more than year with Godolphin to also run last years Doncaster winner Its Somewhat in a field that should include Brave Smash, Clearly Innocent and Showtime.

Ryan has won the All Aged as a trainer with Hurricane Sky and as a jockey with A Bit Of Skite in 1980.

“It is a pretty special race to me, being the only group 1 I have won as a jockey,” Ryan said.

“For Trapeze Artist, it looks like the perfect race. He is unbeaten in two weight-for-age races and is just getting better.”
