Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned the launch of three missiles by Iranian-backed Houthi militias, which targeted the Saudi cities of Riyadh, Jazan and Najran.
He said this was a threat to the security of Saudi Arabia, and regional and international efforts to stop the bloodshed and bring peace to Yemen.
Al-Zayani praised the efficiency of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces, which intercepted and destroyed the missiles before they reach their objectives. He called on the international community to condemn the hostile acts that were contrary to international laws and conventions, and asked the Security Council to implement its resolutions on Yemen, including Resolution No. 2216.
