Roy Keane launches scathing attack on Wilshere
Cape Town – Roy Keane launched a scathing attack on Jack Wilshere following Arsenals 2-2 Europa League draw at CSKA Moscow on Thursday night.
The former Manchester United star also believes that the England star has no chance of being offer a contract at a bigger club than Arsenal as his "career is drifting."
The Gunners reached the last four of the Europa League after beating the Russian outfit 6-3 on aggregate, although they were given a scare at 2-0 down before eventually forcing a draw on the night.
Wilshere is out of contract at the end of the season and has been in discussions over a new deal at The Emirates, although nothing has been ratified as yet.
And Keane believes that the 26-year-old show waste no time in penning a new deal, as it will be the best one he can get, according to the report in The Sun.
Speaking on ITV after the game in Moscow, Keane said: "You need to be fit if youre a top level footballer, and every time I see him hes getting treatment or hes carrying a knock.
"Ive never been a big fan of his, for an attacking player he doesnt get enough goals or assists. The guys career is drifting, I dont like to see it, but as bad as Arsenal were he was really bad.
"Has he been offered a contract? If I was him I would sign it, because if he thinks hes getting big offers in the summer hell be surprised. The big question about him, on top of what he lacks, is that he never seems fit. Thats pretty important.”
Keanes TV colleague Glenn Hoddle also believes the uncertainty over his contract is also hampering Wilsheres current form.
Former England boss Hoddle said: "It was one of those nights it just wasnt working out. Since this contract talks he has gone off the boil. Theres no zip to his game.
"Hes got to play the ball earlier, two or three touch, his days of beating people in and around the box are over."
