All about the money as Jali ponders next move

Cape Town – Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali's next move will depend largely on the pay package he's offered, says his agent.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder has been based with Belgium top-flight club KV Oostende for the past five seasons.

But with his contract expiring in June, there has been speculation that Jali could be set for a return to the Absa Premiership, with several clubs linked with his signature.

However, the 28-year-old's agent Mike Makaab claims there have been no formal offers yet, and he says that it's also possible that Jali could remain in Europe.

"All the top sides in South Africa are interested in Andile Jali but we haven't had any official talks with any one at this stage," Makaab told the Star.

"But Jali is not getting any younger. He is a family man now. We have to make sure the club that signs him is one that is going to give him a good financial package.

"Longevity is very key at this stage of his career. It will depend on what is on the table. It not about many things.

"It is not 100% that Jali is coming back," Makaab revealed. "If we get a good offer from European sides we will consider it.

"Anything can still happen in the next few months. His club also wants to keep him. But at the moment nothing has happened."
