Victorias Secret still has a long way to go when it comes to diversity.

They still havent hired a single plus-size model for their runway show. Their angels are overwhelmingly white, slim, and cisgender.

Is it time for the lingerie brand to hire their first trans woman of colour?

Leyna Bloom thinks so.

The model tweeted out a campaign to land a gig with Victorias Secret, writing: Trying to be the 1st trans model of colour [to] walk a #VictoriaSecret fashion show. #transisbeautiful #LeynaBloom.

Her tweet has been retweeted more than 14,000 so its fair to say a lot of people would like to see Leynas goal achieved.

Leynas been working as a model for some time now, having walked for the Blonds and been the first trans person of colour to be featured in Vogue India.

For her, Victorias Secret would be a massive milestone.

Its always been a dream for me, like so many others, not just trans – POC, all women, and some men even, Leyna told Yahoo. This is a platform that glorifies femininity.

I always felt in my most natural state I am heavenly. For my trans sisters, regardless of color, this will be a moment for us all.

Theres definitely been a gamble with other bigger brands to take on a trans model of color. I dont know why its so hard for them to want to give us a shot. Then again, nothing happens overnight.

We all have unique stories; we are just different, and we have every right to be. We just want to be represented, and maybe they will want to represent us too.
