Bumblebee Scribe Christina Hodson Now Working On Batgirl

Deadline has confirmed that Transformers spinoff Bumblebee screenwriter Christina Hodson is now working on Warner Bros./DCs Batgirl feature,a project last year that Joss Whedon was attached to write, but then stepped away from.

The story will revolve around Barbara Gordon, who is the daughter of Gotham Police Commissioner James Gordon.

Hodson wrote the Denise Di Novi-directed Warner Bros. thriller Unforgettable starring Rosario Dawson and Katherine Heigl. The writer has also taken a stab at the Batgirl as she has been involved on a Birds of Prey movie at Warner Bros. That superhero team is an all-female one comprised of Batgirl, Black Canary and Huntress hatched by DC back in 1996. There was a short-lived TV series loosely adapted from the comic books on The WB back in 2002.

Hodson, a former development executive, first broke through with her 2012 Blacklist Script Shut In, which was directed by Farren Blackburn for EuropaCorp.
