Luis Fonsi is probably pretty glad he wrote this song down when he woke up in the middle of the night being plagued by what would become Despacito, as it has just broken a massive world record.

The tune released in January 2017 has now been the first video on YouTube to reach a whopping 5billion views.

The track already has six Guinness World Records, and now it has a seventh thanks to those who cant get enough of the absolute earworm that is Despacito.

Its beaten the likes of Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puths See You Again, which sits at 3.4 billion views.

Its other records include Most viewed music video online, Most viewed video online, and Most viewed music video on YouTube (duet).

It also earned the record for the single with the most weeks at No.1 in the USA, in September 2017 with 16 consecutive weeks, then it became the most streamed track worldwide upon being played 4.6 billion times across the globe.

It also recentle scored most weeks at No.1 on Billboards Hot Latin Songs Chart in February 2018 after spending 42 non-consecutive weeks at the top spot.
