Ronnie Wood is cancer free after preparing to say goodbye to loved ones

Ronnie Wood has announced he is cancer free after worrying he would have to say goodbye to his loved ones.

The Rolling Stone suffered a health scare last year and has undergone five hours of surgery to remove cancer from his left lung.

After going for a round of check-ups every three months, he has now been given the all clear and has been told to go and enjoy life.

The 70-year-old has expressed his delight and told the good news to Metro.

He said: If your body is riddled with cancer, its a losing cause. Luckily, all mine was contained within the left lung and I was fortunate enough to get shot of it, bang.

As the cancer hadnt spread from his lung, the star revealed that he didnt require to undergo chemotherapy.

Not like hed have had it anyway, as we found out last year he was scared of losing his hair!

Ronnie expressed how he was confused as to why he wasnt riddled after living a rock and roll lifestyle for much of his life – dont question it!

He said: Not even smoking for England for over 50 years — it was a wonder I wasnt riddled with cancer in both lungs. Its a wonder they both didnt explode.

When asked about what advice he would give to other patients suffering from the illness, he urged them to stay positive and stay strong.

He said: Ive had a great life and I was all ready to go. before adding: Wow! I didnt know I was going to be given the ticket to last this long. What a reprieve.
